Boasting gorgeous sights, like the International Rose Test Garden & the Japanese Tea Garden, Portland is known for its beauty. It's also known for its themed bars, like the Raven's Manor, and the Birdie Time mini-golf sports pub. Activities include shooting things at Archery World, breaking things at the Outraged Rage Room, and freaking the fuck out while playing the Stumptown Escape Rooms.
Sights
So, I know what you're thinking. When can we watch Family Feud? But this place is international. It boasts 10,000 rose bushes, 600+ varieties, and (I kid you not) many of the newest roses on the market each year!
Has two tours, but I'm a fan of the Haunted Pub Tour. Sample beer from various pubs while walking with a local historian through the underground Shanghai Tunnels that became used for the largest opium and alcohol smuggling operations in the US.
Experience harmony with nature. Gorgeous rock gardens, greenery, koi ponds, and vistas overlooking Portland. Sip tea and eat at the Umami cafe.
Intense Activities
This fine local establishment provides patrons with protective gear, a wall of blunt force tools, and a host of items on which you may exert reductive force to separate said items into pieces.
Nock one back! Show up, grab a bow and arrows, and have fun with target practice. On the targets.
This would be fun to do with ya'll, and their rooms fit all of us. Themes are: "Tomb of the Mayan Gods", "Starcrash Academy", "The Oregon Files", and "Stumptown Speakeasy".
Recreation
It "has a bar and a restaurant, a mini golf course, a virtual golf game, an darling outdoor area, cornhole, and a selfie booth" according to a fan on yelp.
Self-described as a "haunted theme bar", you can get drinks and food in this cozy blood-stained atmosphere. The burgers even come stabbed, and seared with a pentagram.
Could be a fun place to stay. Every room is like a tiny unique themed cottage here!
Almost 500 vintage and modern pinball games and arcade cabinets. Pay for admission, then play all you want.
EATS
A speakeasy-style steakhouse with pre-prohibition cocktails, a bourbon bar, nightly music, and dry aged steaks. They also feature Absinthe in their drinks.
Honestly, this would be amazing with a group of guys for a casual lunch. Posh it up with a classy selection of tea (looking at you Mammal), tea sandwiches, scones, and crumpets with jam. (I've been to one of their other locations, and love it.)
Classic steakhouse dishes alongside some eclectic southern dishes. Operating alongside 9900, you'll also find Lou's Bar, and a cigar bar dubbed "The Chamber".
Renown for its crazy donuts that come hexed with curses. May be worth a trip if we're in the area.
A more casual locale, Ox serves Argentine inspired dishes. There may be tasty meat and cocktails here, but the vegetable dishes are superb as well, and may outshine the meat.
Swanky and dim, this restaurant and bar is a "hidden gem" in Hotel deLuxe. Described by one patron as "the sexiest little hidden dark room". Who knows -- could be a good place to stay, and a better place to dine.
